I know that "rana" is the feminine form of "frog" - but my friend told me that "sappo" meant frog also, and I can't seem to find it (or its proper spelling) anywhere...so I figured I'd tap my LJ resources.
That one is outside my experience, but a quick google tells me that other people also think it means frog. But bablefish.altavista.com didn't know it. Maybe it's informal?
