Pic post...

I scanned in a lot of old pictures for facebook because I'm a dork like that...here are some others...

Quintessential old nose photo...

that's me and my security blanket that I *still* sleep with

Lily much?

Ah, the 70's

This was right after I met Robert. I wish I still had that hair.

And this one was a couple of weeks ago, Robert took it with his cell phone of the kids in a tree at the park.

Just like Lily!

And my security blanket, that is in Ireland (and I PINE for it), is/was pink gingham with a ruffle aroudn the edge. Smaller gingham, but still.

AaaaAaaa there is so much awesome and cute in this post... I swear that baby is Ella with your security blanket! I still have my security blanket too and damn I hate when it is misplaced, I have such a hard time sleeping without it. My Nana bought me them in a 2 pack and when the original got too worn out (my friends thought it was a dark grey mesh scarf!) when I was about 20 I went to her and she presented me with a perfect new white one :^) of course that one is gross and frayed now too.

I can see where your kids get their incredible hair!

Lily is your mini-me

I like your old nose. :)

What's going to happen when Miss Lil inherits it?

[identity profile] lalicopa.livejournal.com 2008-06-28 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Whatever she wants to happen. :-)

I never wanted a nose job. My parents made me. My mother used to sit across the dinner table from me and put her fingers together (like, "I'm crushing your head") to see how I'd look with a smaller nose. I was 19. My mom made the appointment and I just felt that I didn't really have a choice.

In the long run, I'm glad I did it, but I would *never* do that to my kids. If my kids have something they are uncomfortable with and I have the means to help them, I would, but I'd never suggest it.

Um, WTF? I can't believe parents think that's okay to do to their child.

Yeah, I know. Lots of shit went down in my house growing up.

And once we did the surgery, my parents didn't want to spring for the extra few hundred dollars that would allow me to stay overnight, so I was in a post-op room with about fifty elderly folks who had just had cataract surgery. Then they served them all tuna and egg salad sandwiches and I wanted to vomit.

I know she made you do it, and I'm sorry about it :( I hope she doesn't do the same kind of "pinch your face" type of shit to your girls is all - I wasn't suggesting that YOU would do something like that to them ;)

Oh! Ok...

Well, I'd certainly open a can of whoopass on her if she ever even hinted.

Lily is you all over again! And wow, look at all your hair... reminds me of my photos from the '80s when I had lots, too.
