I just caught the now infamous Tom Cruise appearance on Oprah and woah, is he creepy. I never really "got" the whole Tom Cruise appeal, other than he's made some good movies. To me, he has always looked remarkably like a ferret. But he was just so over the top that it wasn't over the top at all, you know? I know there are people selling "Free Katie" T-shirts and stuff, but seriously, he's doing something to her that's just not right. The whole thing left me feeling worried for poor innocent Katie Holmes.

Not to mention Cruise's appalling comments about Brooke Shields and people in general using antidepressants. He made some comment like, "Years ago it was cool to say no to drugs, now that I'm saying it, people are attacking me for it." Ok, yeah. Heroin, etc...very similar to antidepressants to help with post partum depression and the like. Moron. We're not all bazillionaires with no cares in the world, ya stupid ferret.

Oh he was like jumping on the furniture and high-fiving Oprah every 10 seconds. He was gushing times 100. It was just repulsive. I'm not sure if that's what he was going for or if he thought it would be heartwarming. I found it just totally icky.

According to my mother (the be all and end all of all celebrity information), Steven Speilberg is quite pissed off at Tom Cruise because he's supposed to be plugging their new movie and all Cruise talks about on his interviews is how ga-ga he is over Katie Holmes.

Oh my GOD I saw a little of that before I turned off the TV. What a weirdo. I feel a little bad for Nicole Kidman - I mean, even if you're divorced and moved on and all, it's still got to twinge a little to see your ex saying on TV that he's never felt this way before.

I still think it's the creepiest to be all, "I used to have posters on my wall of him and dreamed of marrying him, and now, I AM OMG SQUEE!" Now, I had my share of young teen crushes and I still think some of the recipients of said crushes are hot, but just her saying that was weeeeeeird, to me.

I've never found Tom attractive (I was hot for Ice Man Val in Top Gun, actually) but gawds, he pissed me off with the whole Nicole/Penelope cheating thing, and now he creeps me out with Katie.

And then he pissed me RIGHT THE FUCK OFF with the whole Brooke Shields commentary. Makes me wish we could sentence him to empathy training via impregnating him and ensuring he gets PPD after delivery while his newborn screams bloody hell 20 out of 24 hours.
