Work to Do

The contractors are finally done with the bookshelf and the other odds and ends around the house. Now I have to put everything away. That includes all the stuff we had to move because of the flood. Add to that Laszlo had me up for two nights for hours screaming for one thing or another (wasn't only Elmo) and I finally got some sleep last night, to wake up with swollen glands and a runny nose. So nice of my kids to share their ickies with me.

Robert is going to play tennis on Sunday before his whole family comes to see the house and have a BBQ/graduation party for his niece who just finished Yale grad. school. I am kinda annoyed that he's going to play tennis while I am getting the house all ready for his family. Is that terribly selfish of me? Or terribly selfish of him? Not sure if I'm just being petty, but I'm annoyed that he won't be here and I'll be here with both kids trying to make things pretty for his family.

I've got a ton of shit to get done around here in the next few days. Not just for the family thing, but also because MY family's going to be here next week. My brother Seth is coming in from California with his wife and kids and I'll finally get to meet my new niece Layne because Josh and Janet are coming in from the city. It will be nice to have the whole family together, especially with these two new baby girl additions.

I'm trying to get Laszlo and Lily to nap right now, but she's kvetching in her crib. He's finally quiet so I can only assume he's passed out.
