Puppy love

There's been so much crap all around lately. I'm putting so much positive energy into this new puppy coming to join our family. We decided to name him Ragu.

He's coming home in 9 days. I feel like buying him stuff already...little blue blankets and boy dog stuff. I know it's silly, but I am really just so excited for this new fuzzy little life to join us.

There really is nothing like a puppy.

(the profile picture is of Tallulah when she was a puppy. I can't wait to see how excited she is when he gets here).

I think it's highly amusing that at the ripe age of ten months, Tallulah discovered her tail and hasn't stopped chasing it and chewing on it all day.

I guess she ran out of pencils/necklaces/crayons/wood moulding/toys/gum/magnets/etc. to chew on to keep herself busy.

How long does puppyhood last again?

I have a snuggly warm fluffy puppy nuzzling on my chest and under my chin. Puppies smell so good. Her fur is the blackest black and the whitest white. I wuv her.

It's begging for a lolcat...

You probably have to click the picture for the full effect of the pupface.

Kibbles is just having no part of it. And no, she's not a vampire bat.

Heh, see what I did there? Pupdate?

Tallulah rallied a bit last night and this morning is back to her normal frisky puppy self. I gave both dogs baths this morning and now they're all floofy and smelling good.

I went to H&M yesterday (jealous?) and I got Lily a shirt that has a puppy on the front that looks like ours...she has half a black face and half a white face. And of course there were matching hair accessories that needed to be purchased. Lily was really excited to see all the "Tallulah fings" that I got.

...or any other wise pet people...

I took Tallulah for another shot today, this time it was the Lepto shot. The vet said that she wanted me to give the pup some wet food in addition to her dry puppy kibble because there's not a lot of meat on her lil puppy bones. So I stopped at the pet store, got some Nutra Max puppy food, gave Tallulah half a can (which she devoured) and then let her pee outside and put her in the crate so I could go to the mall.

I got home about an hour and a half later, and she's totally lethargic. I took her out to pee and she did, but then she just sat down and didn't want to walk or play. She ignored Kibbles. She just sat in my arms and didn't do much, and the injection site is hurting her.

I called the vet right away and they said she could be lethargic from the shot, and that as long as she's eating I shouldn't be concerned. But she's not due to eat for another hour or so. I did a little internet research on the vaccine, and there are definitely side effects, but it still seems like something I'd opt for her to get (should have done that before, I know).

Anyway, I'm just a little concerned about my wee pup. I'm gonna take her out in few more minutes and see if I can get a rise out of her at all.

Tallulah chooses odd things to play with. So far her favorite toys are a strap from a plastic pail and this funnel that the kids use outside with the water table.

Kibbles still isn't thrilled with the puppy, but she did tolerate a brief visit from Tallulah in her own (huge) cribbie (aka cage).

Kibbles is such a good cute girl.

Ella likes to share.

Yeah, you knew he'd hold off only so long...

Lily is in *ALL* her glory. I swear, it's like she won the lottery. It's painfully cute. And we're all about the cute.

...and we got her a smaller crate because Kibbles is in a huge one and it's hers for now...plus we're crate training her. Of course Crazy Ella had to check out the new crate. Am I a horrible mother because I snapped this picture before rescuing the stuck baby?

We left a deposit! I'm picking her up tomorrow most likely. Just have to figure out what I need to have for her.

Yay!

I'm thinking Tallulah? Lily likes that name. We'll see.

She doesn't really look like an "Olive" but we'll see. I went to see her today at a breeder today. Robert's coming to see her tonight and we're bringing the kids.

She's a 10 week old Havanese, the breed I was originally interested in.

The guy who breeds them lives about an hour away, but he gives have of his litters to his cousin who lives 5 minutes from me. He breeds dogs and horses. He said, "I have a special running, for every puppy you buy you get a free horse." I'm still chuckling about that one.

This pup is so cute, she's got a little black mask on her face and she looks like a checkerboard.
