I took the kids to the pediatrician today for Laszlo's 3 year and Lily's monthly checkup. I was a bit nervous because I took them myself and both kids were getting blood drawn.

Usually when I take them to the doctor (or most places), Laszlo stays in the stroller. He doesn't talk to strangers and usually hides behind his froggy.

Today he got right out of his stroller. He was turning the light on and off and it was interrupting Lily's exam. There were other open exam rooms, so I told him to go in another one. So he did. All by himself, just walked into another exam room and started flicking the light on and off. Then the nurse went in there and he *talked* to her. He came back into the exam room when he heard Lily crying and tried to calm her down, "Oh Lily, I'm sorry...it's ok" - in my vocal affectations, which cracks me up.

Then it was time for his exam. He got right on the "black rectangle" scale, let us weigh him. He let the doctor examine him, no problem. The doctor told him to "gimme five" and Laszlo offered the doctor Froggy's hand (which he does a lot lately as well). He let the doctor measure him. He let the doctor examine him. *HE LET THE DOCTOR TAKE HIS BLOOD* and didn't even flinch. He watched the needle and watched the blood coming out, but he was such a good, brave boy. He was happy with his band-aid. Then the doctor took his blood pressure, which I thought might freak him out, but he just sat there smiling.

I never thought such little things would make me beam with such pride.

Laszlo's therapist called today to let us know she would not be in tomorrow and I told her how well he did. She told me that he's her favorite...and that everyone there knows it. She said that when they were in a meeting going over who would cover her clients, when they came to Laszlo's name everyone looked at her because they knew she didn't wanna share him with anyone. Awwww. She wasn't in on Tuesday and he had another therapist that he never had. I thought he'd have an issue. Nope. He was totally fine.

Oh yeah, back to the checkup. Lily's doing great. They tested her iron and the doctor said that hers is very high, better than they ever expect for a 1 year old baby. Apparently it has to be 11 or above and hers was 14. Laszlo's was 11. And she's strictly breastfed (no milk or formula) and eats a ton of foods. She's such a good girlie.

So that's it. It was a proud morning for me.
