I was talking with my OB about birth control and she suggested the Mirena IUD. I've since spoken to a friend who had a similar one and hated it. Anyone else have experiences (good or bad) with IUDs? I'm not committed to it, and the whole 5 year thing sort of makes me nuts too, even though I'm really sure I'm done having kids. Of course I know it can be removed, but still.
I can't really do the hormonal thing (like the pill or Nuva Ring) because I get a bit kooky on them and my blood pressure thing has me nervous to do that too. Plus the last time I went on the pill I got pregnant with Lily, then on the Nuva Ring, miss Ella. It was, of course, once I had stopped them, but like, freakishly soon after stopping them.
So...advice please. Thanks much!
And how effective is lactational amenorrhea? I remember something like 95%, comparable with the pill, but not sure if that's been revised and figured I'd tap into your collective genius before googling.
