I forgot to mention that Ella chewed a piece of Robert's nicotine gum on Saturday evening at a birthday party. It was already chewed, on his plate, and she must have grabbed it off and stuck it in her mouth. I saw it in her mouth when she was fussing and took it out. It seemed whole, but she may have ingested a little bit.
We called poison control and they said that she probably didn't get much, if anything, since it had been chewed already and since she didn't swallow the gum. They told us what to look out for (the same things that would happen with caffeine overdos); tremors, sleeplessness, vomiting, etc.)
I supposed it's possible that she ingested a little bit and that may have caused yesterday's awake marathon. It's not likely though, since there isn't a 24 hour lag time.
Good news though, she hasn't smoked a cigarette in three days.
