Birthday redux as of 3:12 pm
Apr. 15th, 2008 03:12 pmWhat a nice birthday so far! I got kind wishes via LJ and Facebook and from my other friends on the phone and email...
Went to the gym and met up with two friends unexpectedly and they sang happy birthday to me on the elliptical. Then I trained with Colleen and lost track of time so I was a little late picking up the girls at the babysitter at the gym. As a consolation, I insisted upon driving her home.
Then I came home and showered, then took Lily to her art class and met my mom and two good friends at one of my fave restaurants in the neighborhood. One of them asked for cake and a candle when I wasn't paying attention, so I got to be all embarrassed when they all sang to me. The cake was super good, chocolate cheesecake. Yummer.
Came home to a package from Robert. It's a "chocolate spa tower" from 800-flowers. It's four brown/pink boxes stacked and they contain all different types of chocolate and vanilla flavored bath stuff/creams/lotions/salts, etc. And a can of hazelnut and chocolate cookies.
I went outside to get Laszlo off the bus a few minutes ago and he told me Kirsten (his crush) had something to tell me. Then the bus drive said, "Ready? 1, 2, 3!" and all the kids said, "Happy Birthday!" It was so sweet. Laszlo told me it was Kirsten's idea. So cute.
Now I'm waiting for the piano teacher to come and then I think I'll take the kids to the park because it's one of my rare birthdays that the sun is shining and it's gorgeous out.
I think we'll have sushi for dinner. Robert's coming home early to not miss dinner, which I thought was very nice since he wasn't able to do that for any of the kids' birthdays.
Also, my mom sent me a really sweet card and wrote in it and it made me get all teary.
So far, so good!
Lily just came up to me after making an art project of feathers and a picture on white paper and held it up and told me to blow out the candles and sang to me. Then she said, "It's patend. It's an art cake."
