Thank the gods, Laszlo is almost 100% better today. He slept through the night and woke up cool. He said his throat still hurt him a little bit, so I gave him Motrin early this morning, but haven't since, and he's been chipper and fever-free all day. I'm not sure if he really had Coxsackie after all, because everything I read says it lasts longer and that the sores follow the fever. He only had fever yesterday, but was a psycho for a few days prior. Who knows. As long as he's better, that's really all I care about.
And the babysitter was here anyway today, so I got some alone time.
I had my MRI this morning for my back. I never had one before. It was interesting. The place is a relatively new radiology chain around here and it ran very well. I was in and out within an hour. Since the place was new, I assumed it would be an open exam, but I was wrong. I freaked out minimally at the very start, but the cute technician talked to me and he gave me headphones with music, so I felt better. I used the time to take deep breaths and relax. It was actually nice.
Then they gave me my films (4 of them) and gave me a slip of paper to pick up my CD at the front desk. There were several machines all timed and set up perfectly to have each patient's disc ready with their images and labeled appropriately. I was totally impressed. And the staff was super nice.
After I stopped at a local children's boutique that is moving, so she's having a huge sale - plus I had a $20 gift certificate there. I got some stuff for the kids and I talked with the owner. I've spoken to her a few times before, she's a really cool woman. She is the one who told me that she doesn't buy from vendors who do not hold liability insurance. She's a very savvy business person and she spoke to me for over a half hour. She also told me she thinks I should get back into tie dyeing and said if I do, she'd be happy to hook me up with vendors that could get my business booming. It was nice to hear that, even though I really don't have any intention of doing that.
I stopped home, with no plans for the afternoon and a gloomy sky rolling in. It was 12:50...I decided to see what movies were playing...decided to see The Dark Knight at 1:00. I bolted out of here, after asking Laszlo if he wanted to come with me (I'm so glad he didn't, I didn't realize how violent it was going to be). I wasn't thrilled with the movie, I felt that it could have ended 45 minutes before it actually did. Also, I was sad watching Heath Ledger because he was the awesome.
Now I'm home and there's an insane thunderstorm happening. Literally sheets of rain and the loudest thunder I've ever heard. I have to call my sis in law and see how my niece is doing...she's terrified of thunder.
Also, Tallulah = best and cutest puppy ever.
