Ew, sugar?
Oct. 6th, 2008 05:15 pmI signed Laszlo and Lily up for "Kandy Krafts" (so yeah, I should have known) - an afternoon program at Laszlo's school. Today was the first one. They made rocket ships. Out of crap. The base was TEN sandwich cookies, five vanilla and five chocolate, alternated and glued together with vanilla frosting. On top of the cookies is a sugar cone covered in more frosting and then dipped in rainbow sprinkles (jimmies for some of y'all). The wings are a strawberry Pop Tart split in half diagonally so it makes triangles. They are also stuck on with frosting. Then to finish it off, there are gumdrops stuck on to be the "lights" on the rocket.
I have to say, even me, being the HUGE sugar addict that I am - was a little turned off by this. Kandy Krafts sounded more to me like something using candy in art projects...like making caterpillars out of gumdrops or something, but this thing is TREMENDOUS. Of course I took pictures.
They'd better have a good dinner before I let them anywhere near those things. And they'll eat them over a few days, dammit.
That's as long as I don't eat them first.
