new puter

My laptop is a bit over 2 years old. The monitor is all screwy and falling apart, which I was able to handle. About 2 months ago I had a scare and had to call HP, which was a horrible experience and they told me all my folders were gone. Luckily, my sister in law is a genius and showed me how they weren't. Then the final straw was when the USB ports totally died. I uninstalled and reinstalled them, per HP online service, but nothing worked. They suggested I bring it somewhere local or send it to them for a mere $300 so they could fix it.

So instead, I got a new laptop today. It's an Acer (which I had never heard of) and it seems to be a good price. It also has XP instead of Vista, which is a huge bonus, especially since the ones I was looking at online were charging $150 to put XP back on. It's a LOT smaller than my last laptop, which is good and bad. So, we'll see. I have to get used to the keyboard and mouse, because it doesn't have the numbers on the right like my last one, the mouse in the center seems OFF center.

Robert also got a new desktop, which has so far given us nothing but stress. I tried helping him hook everything up, but he is such a fucking baby and not letting me do it and fighting with me. So now I'm back inside and resting from him. He's in the office now working on it and I'm hoping he makes some progress, because I seriously cannot stand dealing with him when he's nutty about stuff like that. Grrrrr.

At least I got a spankin' new laptop! Woo hoo for me!
