lalicopaThis morning I skipped the gym because I went to that kickass medicine ball class last night. It was great, but totally too hard for me until I kick up my cardio a bit.
I dropped Lily off at school and chatted with the owners outside for a few minutes about the kids. Barbara, one of the owners took me aside after we were all talking and said, "Jen, I just have to tell you something. You're a wonderful mother. We all love you here." That was just about the nicest compliment I've ever received and I have been getting teary eyed all day when I think about it. She said some other nice stuff too, about how open I am, but I don't remember that as well because I'm not used to getting such amazing compliments from people I respect like that.
Then I picked up my new friend Karen and we went to Target for some stuff. She's really nice, very different from other friends I've had. She's turning 50 this month (so she's Robert's age). Her *gorgeous* daughter Ava is in first grade at the school. We met at the "New Parent Breakfast" the week school started, and they are walkers too, so I see her all the time.
After Target Ella passed out, so I unloaded the car and drove around aimlessly for a while. I caught up with a good friend on the phone who I haven't really had the chance to talk to too much lately. Then I went to pick up Laszlo at school and meet with the speech therapist there. He's receiving speech therapy because he has a "lateral lisp". It's something I never would have thought required therapy, but it's free and it's there and they are offering it, so why not. Also, it gets him out of his classroom and extra two times a week. She went on to say how smart he is (she's worked with him a few times already) and seemed really super nice.
Just so far, a really good day. Hope I'm not jinxing myself by saying it at the mere hour of 3:30!
