Hi! I had all three of my kids at LIJ. I used an OB/GYN all three times too. I don't know much about Nassau other than that there was once an episode of A Baby Story filmed there and they had a water birth. :-) That hospital used to have a horrible reputation, but it's been getting better and better every year.
The only midwife I know of locally is a woman in Baldwin. She is the only local midwife who does home births. A few of my friends have used her and loved her. I'm not sure how far she travels or if she's affiliated with any hospitals. I can get her name for you if you're interested.
