A woman at Laszlo's school came up to me the other day and told me that she was so happy she saw me and that she had a friend who used to do tie dyeing, etc. and had "like 25 boxes of blanks she's dying to get rid of for dirt cheap."
Too good to be true?
I think NOT!
I went there today, she had at LEAST 25 boxes of adorable stuff. I have to inventory what I got, but I'd say there are about 150-175 pieces including cotton velour 1-piece long sleeve/pants snap things, a ton of cotton sherpa outfits that I'd never even SEEN before, thermal dresses and swing shirts, cotton knit dresses, sweat pants, other dresses, knit shirts with a frilly skirty waist...and more that I'm forgetting.
I had no idea how much it was going to cost me.
Grand total? She said $440 and I said, "How 'bout 400?" She said fine. She was happy to get rid of it and she liked me because I remind her of herself when she was heavily into doing this. This means I'll probably have to put off ordering my woven labels, but I could not pass up this opportunity. I got at least three times worth of what I paid, and that's just wholesale pricing. I got 20 of those swing frilly shirts for $50, and I'll sell them for $25 each.
I'm sooooooo super excited. I have the first load of it in the wash and have to take it out and dry it, then put the second load in. It's 2 lawn bags and 2 boxes full of stuff.
YAY!

Date: 2006-10-14 01:04 am (UTC)do you use Dharma Dyes? I'm using those and right now just doing vat dyeing, but I plan to try out some LWI at some point too. I don't do tie dye, so I promise I won't be cutting in on your turf ;)

Date: 2006-10-14 01:58 am (UTC)Yep, I use Dharma dyes, mostly because that's what I started with and I'm comfortable with them. I'm sure I could find procion dyes locally and probably cheaper, but I just make sure I'm all stocked up every time I place a garment/supply order from them.
