Laszlo's sleeping at my mom's tonight. It's his reward that we worked out with his teachers...if he was well behaved in school all week and "earned" enough tickets, he got to sleep at Grandma's.

Robert has been sad all day because he's gonna miss him.

Me? I'm relishing the quiet. I keep hearing him around the house, which is funny...and it's only been about a half hour since we got home without him. If it works out for him and my mom, this just may become a frequent practice. It's a treat for everyone.

We scored barstools today at Target for $25 each. I was prepared to spend a lot more than that. We got our old ones at Bed and Bath when we moved here, but they were constructed SO poorly. I'm so glad we chucked them. Now we got old fashioned wooden ones without backs, so they take up a lot less space in our kitchen. Yay. I also got step stools for the kids with that little storage part and they were only $19 each. In the catalogs I get, they're at least twice that. Yay again. And I got Lily Nick and Nora bedding there last week also for $19 all pink with cowgirls all over it. Too dang cute. This is the pattern: http://tinyurl.com/yrydag

Target = love

I put a "wanted" on freecycle for a Snap and Go base for the car seat. I have a stroller that it snaps into but that's for 2 and I'd love to pick up just the base for no money and keep it in the car for the days I'm in and out a million times and have to shlep the carrier. I hate that thing and my back is totally shot because of it. I relish putting Ella in her bigger car seat, and I know I can do it now, but there are so many things that are easier in the bucket...I don't always like to wear her when I go places because my back is so screwed up and it hurts after a while. I forgot the stroller the other day and went to the mall with my mom. I keep my old Hug a Bub in the car so I had her in that and she slept pretty much the whole time we were there, which was fine...but my back is still reminding me that it was stupid to leave the stroller home.

Tempted to keep on rambling, but I'm stopping myself here.

Personally, I'd head to the chiropractor for a visit and then wear her... if necessary, get a mei tai or woven carrier that will be more supportive for your back. I suspect that with a couple of adjustments and a good supportive carrier and leaving the car seat in your car, your back will be better for it.

How old is she now?

Ten weeks today! She's 12 pounds, 5 ounces. I do wear her a LOT, but for extended periods of time (like more than an hour straight while walking) it hurts my back...no matter which carrier I have her in.

Tell me your list of carriers, etc... the caveat is that walking around holding a baby for an hour could also hurt your back.... but I do know that several carriers out there are *superb* for little babies in front carries, specifically wrap-strapped mei tais like Napsack, Baby Ball Overall and Maya Tie.

I have to check with Paul, but I think we have some extra bases. Latch or no latch?
