Entry One Again
May. 31st, 2004 08:38 pmJust tried to put an entry in, I'm so new at this. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.
Laszlo has Fifth Disease, or at least that's what we think it is. He's had a low grade fever and woke up with red patches on his face. I don't think it's roseola because he didn't have a high fever. Oh well. I'm hoping Lily manages to not catch it because if she gets a high fever they'll want to do a spinal tap to find the cause. Seems rather stupid since her brother has just had this virus, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
Josh and Jan just adopted Layne Parker. I cannot wait to meet her. I think Lily and Layne will be best friends/cousins. I'm thrilled with how my brother has embraced fatherhood, but annoyed at how dramatic he was about the whole thing these months leading up to it. I think part of me always believed he'd melt as soon as he held his baby in his arms.
It's Monday, the holiday, and it feels like a Sunday. I have some people coming to the house on Wednesday which seems like so far away...I have to keep reminding myself that it's already Monday!
We're just about settled in this new amazing house. A very big part of me feels that I have to apologize for how nice it is each time someone new comes over. My mother says it's because part of me doesn't feel I deserve it. I guess that's true. I feel like I'm in a hotel. But I don't have to clean my room (or my kitchen, etc.) when I'm staying in a hotel!
