Not Fifth Disease
Jun. 1st, 2004 10:58 amLaszlo was up most of the night complaining and his voice sounded hoarse. He woke up this morning asking for his TV on and by the time we got in there he had gotten himself really riled up. He ended up vomiting all over his crib and himself, so hello 5:30 am bath. Ick.
He was quieter than usual in the bath, but played nonetheless. I took him out, let him play on the computer a bit...dosed him up with some Motrin and Benadryl and then put him in his crib. He's been sleeping for a few hours now, bless his heart. He sounds more like he has a cough now, his chest has that rumble to it when he breathes and the voice is not his normal one.
I'm debating the doctor visit. My instinct tells me to just wait it out and let this pass with some sleep and fluids. Since this kid is never sick (knocking feverishly on wood), I'm just not used to him being so out of sorts. I'm also watching Lily like a hawk because I really don't want her to get sick this early on in her lil life. So far she's doing good, but whatever he has may have some incubation period.
I am totally exhausted. I tried to get a little sleep earlier but the phone started ringing at 8:00 and didn't stop until Lily woke up asking for some boobie - in her lil newborn squeaks and whimpers. She's getting cuter every day, I can't take it. I still cannot believe I have a son and a daughter. How did I become a grown up all of a sudden? Bizarre.
So, here I am, waiting for the doctor to call back, waiting for someone to wake up or the phone to ring and since I'm not in bed trying to sleep, odds are neither will happen. Damn that Murphy.
All for now.
