Not sure why exactly, but I'm looking forward to this weekend. I think mostly because I got a LOT done in the house this week and because as of now we're not expecting any company. Laszlo's still coughing, but hopefully will be all better by tomorrow or Sunday. Lily's coughing now too, and it's so sad. She doesn't understand what is happening when she coughs, so she does it and then cries hysterically for 5 seconds, then stops. Poor lil thing.
Also, we got this monster grill yesterday and we made steaks last night. I bought chopped meat today and we'll have burgers and dogs tonight and probably all weekend. I'm getting used to my new neighborhood, finally ran into some of the nasty people fitting the stereotype I was warned about. Some woman in the market huffed and puffed while I tried to move my wagon out of her way, then Laszlo's book was hanging over the edge and she said, "Your son's book is STILL in my way." I moved it and then made faces at the back of her head throughout the store. Bitch.
For the most part the people I've been meeting are really friendly and I talk to just about anyone, so I guess that helps. I've managed to meet most of my immediate neighbors, some farther away and most of the local shopkeepers.
Last night we walked to the duck pond with the kids (I had Lily in the Hug-a-Bub, which I LOVE) and then we walked a little farther to the elementary school that Laszlo and Lily will attend. They have a great playground there and Laszlo played right away. Usually he's very touchy in those situations, so I felt very proud that he just went right on the slide. And he knew it was a new park, not the one we go to all the time, and he still had no problems. Woo hoo, my boy's getting grown up all the time!
I guess that's all for today, nothing really exciting. I had the contractors here building some bookshelves and it's in the office so I bullshitted with them a lot today. I guess I miss having my 2 older brothers around!
