Holiday thus far
Dec. 10th, 2007 07:39 amWe went to my brother and sis in law's in NYC yesterday. The kidlets got great stuff and had the best time playing. The girls were leaving Laszlo out a bit and he was actually sad about it. Robert's been super sensitive when things like this happen lately, it must be pushing some buttons for him. Laszlo is easily redirected and the girls were pretty understanding when we explained that it wasn't nice to always pretend Laszlo's a monster, because it is not a fun game to HIM when they are slamming the door in his face and hiding from him.
He was way happier when the girls were pushing doll strollers through the hallway and he was capturing it all on his spankin' new video camera. Watch out Spielberg.
I can be done with the holidays now and be completely happy. Not sure how we're going to handle the other family fiasco. I'm not even sure when it's scheduled for, since we haven't received any kind of invitation, just references to "the annual family gathering" in the Secret Santa email.
Last night when we got home, Laszlo continued playing with his camera. He used to always take pictures of Alabama. He went to the cage and tried getting Kibbles' attention. Apparently she's not as much of a cam-whore as 'Bama was. So Laszlo looked at me and said, "Where's Bama?" and then realized and said, "Oh yeah, she's gone." I can't wait until this doesn't hurt anymore. The kids are pretty much fine with it, but there are constant references like that and it kills me every time.
Ella was up again last night. I don't know what to do anymore. She's a little congested and has been snurfling while she nurses, so maybe she's got a little cold. Laszlo woke up all congested today and miserable, so I gave him some Benadryl and called the school to say he's not coming in. So we'll just laze around this morning until either I decide to go to the gym (it's horrible to take a sleepy, boogery kid to the gym, right?) or until 11 when we take Lily to school.
I'm thinking of taking Lily myself into the city to see the windows and the tree. The only day I can really do it is Wednesday of this week, if the girl I share the babysitter with can swap days. I haven't mentioned it to her, since I thought of it last night on the way home when she said that the Triborough Bridge was "a big giant Christmas house!" I'll know tomorrow if Gia can swap days and if she can, I'll tell Lily. I think we'd have such a good time...I've never done anything like that with just her before. I guess I can do it the following week, for some reason I got the dates wrong in my head. Whew. Now we just have to pray for good weather.
