Stolen from radams:
List ten things that you love about your state. If you steal this meme, you also have to list one thing you love about my state.
What I love about New York:
1 - people are mostly friendly and don't always mug you or tell you to fuck off.
2 - culture of nyc, although I rarely go there anymore.
3 - 4 seasons.
4 - going upstate to see the changing colors in fall.
5 - diversity.
6 - being so close to the Atlantic and knowing my kids will always know what it's like to dip their toes in the Ocean.
7 - even the most geographically retarded people know where NY is.
8 - 40 minutes in some direction and I'm either on a farm or in the heart of the Big Apple.
9 - best bagels, Italian and Chinese food - yes, I know I'll get some arguments there, but it's just true, dammit. I'd say pizza too, but Chicago may have the market cornered on great pizza.
10 - looking so forward to taking my kids to Broadway shows - some of my fondest memories of growing up is seeing them with my family.
I've never been to Oregon, but I imagine it to be amazingly beautiful and serene in many places.

Date: 2004-11-04 02:42 pm (UTC)Those same people, on the other hand, think the ENTIRE state is made up of the city. When I moved to the Southern Tier, I had to explain about a thousand times that there's a whoooooole other state, too...
What I love about NY: Watkins Glen, camping in the Adirondacks, autumn leaves, and really good really cheap pizza.
