Yesterday was another marathon day. Up since 5 am after a shitty night's sleep. Drove Laszlo to school, stayed for a new parent tea...drove home, picked up Lily and my mom and Ella, went to Lily's new school for orientation...went to mall to get a necklace for tonight...came home...drove to pick up Laszlo...came home...played...Ella napped.

There was a Welcome Back Picnic at the school, and since I met a few moms in the morning and said I'd be there, I felt compelled to go. I took out the Sit n' Stand and stuck Ella in the front, Lily in the back, and Laszlo walked with me. I took our MTC in case the baby got fussy. Laszlo told me he didn't want to go because he was tired (no doubt with the way he had slept), but I made him go.

So...Laszlo was miserable pretty much, which I don't blame him for. Lily was playing, her new favorite thing is climbing trees...so there she was trying to climb a tree in her Crocks with a dress on, along with a handful of older elementary school kids. She was getting so frustrated and crying. I finally managed to get Laszlo out to play a bit, then he was in the tree, hurt his hand and was crying. So now I had both of them miserable and crying. And Ella was already in the mei tai because she had been cranky. Time to leave with the three kids. I put crying Lily in the front, kvetching Laszlo in the back, and Ella was on me. I wasn't even halfway down the field and Ella was loudly crying and rooting around, playing motorboat with my boobs. So...feeling very warrior momma, I unclipped my top (wearing a Bravado nursing tank top, thank goodness) and popped my boob in her mouth while we walked home on the busiest street in town. I don't think it was detectable that I was nursing unless you were viewing me from above, so whenever we passed a truck or something I shielded my boobs with my hand.

I walked very slowly and laughed at myself all the way home.

My mom said this morning, "Where on earth did you come from? You're so not my daughter." Then she called me Earth Mother, which I consider one of the best compliments ever.
