Last summer Laszlo got off the camp bus and I looked at the backs of his legs when he was walking toward the door. One of his legs was wayyyyyy bigger than the other. Turned out he had a bug bite that he scratched and it got infected.
Last night he was up scratching and complaining, and when he got home from school today he told me they were going to send him to the nurse's office but they didn't. Then I lifted up his pants and he's definitely got another infection...checked the bite on his other leg and that's infected too.
He's not even one of those kids who likes to get his hands dirty, not sure why his scratching is making him get infections. He was scratching the hell out of it last night though, so I'm not entirely shocked, but last night the bites were not swollen at all.
I called the doctor and the office had just closed because it's a Jewish holiday...I'm tempted to call the emergency service just to get him on antibiotics a day early, but I'll wait until tomorrow. Hopefully they'll write it over the phone and not make me bring him in, I guess it will depend on which doctor is on duty.
It never ends.
