Lame or no?

I had my navel pierced when I was 20. I loved it. I only took it out once when I had surgery and then it was back in until my second trimester with Laszlo, at which point it looked like if I did NOT remove it, it would work its way out and shoot across the room.

I tried wiggling it back in after he was born, but no success. And I've missed it ever since, even at my heaviest.

So now that I'm *almost* at midriff bearing weight/shape, I want to get it redone. Is that lame at 36 years old? Like how I feel when I see this woman at the gym with her bright tramp stamp that she always makes sure is showing? I guess it doesn't really matter, because *I* dig it, but I don't want to seem like such a washed up momma who is clinging to any trace of hotness that once existed.

Also, I should mention that I still have the hole there and it's not so pretty. I remember reading that if you wanted the hole to go away, it would require an outpatient procedure in a doctor's office. So I've had a hole in my belly for 6 years. My friend pointed out how much nicer a piece of jewelry would look than the hole. I think she just might be right.

Oh don't get me wrong...I'm not going to be busting out in a cropped top anytime soon, but my whole goal here is bikini in the summer.

Have you made sure that they *can* pierce the same spot with scar tissue and all? There must be something in the LJ air. I spent over 5 minutes the other day determining that my nose piercing was indeed closed.

Yeah, she said it's no problem to repierce it.

I've wanted my nose done for ages, but Robert strongly urged me not to do it and I don't wanna hear his nasty comments if I do it. We'll start with the belly button tomorrow (yep, I called) and see how it goes.

I say not lame because I've been dying for a bellyring for forever and at 35 with no more pregnancies on the horizon I'm considering getting it done. It's for me and a lot more reversable than any form of surgery, which I am also considering.

and is that you in your icon? i don't know why i'm asking, i dont even know you. i'm just curious. sometimes i will think that someone's icon picture is them for a hundred years and then find out it isn't and i can't stop picturing the person that way. this actually kind of happened with someone even after i met her once, the connection was so strong in my mind. /babble

i had mine pierced when i was 22 and took it out before going to the mikveh when i was marrying michael... i'd never taken it out before and i decided to take it out for good, partly because michael wasn't into it, partly because i wanted to go to the mikvah again and the idea of putting it in and out was weird to me. LAME! i kind of miss it sometimes... i don't know.

anyway, if you want to do it you should do it, and since i'm always behind on lj you've probably already done it anyway!
