lalicopaI took Lily to the doctor. He was great. I thought she'd be afraid of him because he keeps this light on his head like a mine worker, but I saw him before and told her about it, so she wasn't startled when he walked in with the apparatus on. He was very soft spoken and gentle.
He took a brief history and then looked in her ears. Then he put some numbing spray in one nostril and put this long light/camera thing in, which took all of 45 seconds. I was impressed. Lily barely squirmed at all.
Then they did a hearing test. The audiologist asked Lily what her favorite food was (so she could say it whenever she heard the beep) and she said, "Bacon!" That's my girl.
Her hearing is totally fine, even in the ear with the fluid.
The doctor said that it can take months for all the fluid to resolve after an ear infection, and that he didn't want to put her on yet another antibiotic. He said he wants to see her again in 2 months. And that's that.
