Laszlo had four good days in a row at school. We gave him a ton of praise. He was proud and excited.

Yesterday was not a good day. He was bothering his friend John, which is his latest annoying behavior. He bops him on the head (gently) and just bothers him in class, especially at quiet times in the class when he's supposed to be doing something else. He had four days with just playing normally with John, but yesterday he was being awful again.

The assistant principal called me to tell me. I asked him, "Not to be nasty, but what am I supposed to *do* with this information when you call me midday to tell me he's misbehaving?" He said, "Well, we were wondering if there was something you and your husband did differently the last four days and to see if maybe you could do it again."

Um, WHAT?

Then he said, "Laszlo said that you guys had a long talk with him, so maybe you could tell him whatever it was you told him on those four days."

I said, "I didn't say anything different to him than I say every day."

I had to swallow my tongue before saying, "He's fucking *playing* you, you moron."

When I picked Laszlo up from school, he said, "You're not gonna be happy at me." I told him I wasn't. Then the teacher told me that he was taken out of the room and that the class was doing some alphabet sheets, so the substitute that took him out was doing that with him. He told her he didn't want to do those sheets, that he wanted to make a list instead. She said, "Sure, what kind of list do you want to make?" He said, "I want to make a list of the things I should stop doing to John."

He put, "Going in John's face, saying 'Pounce, pounce pounce' in John's face..." and some others. I didn't see it because it's in the writing folder that stays in school.

On the walk to the car, I asked Laszlo why he had such a tough day. He said, "You didn't have a long enough talk with me. You only said, 'Keep up the good work,' That was short, you didn't talk to me long enough."

So somehow it's *MY* fault that he misbehaved. He's SO his father's child.
