I realized that this whole Live Journal thing is really for people with a large degree of self-importance. I mean, who else writes totally mundane stuff (ok, other than Tristyn's recent posts) and puts it "out there" for the world to see? Don't get me wrong here, I'm totally included in this egocentric practice. Just that when I was explaining Live Journal to my husband, I started realizing that it's really just something so narcissistic. Not that it's a bad thing...really.

It's not just self-importance! It's exhibitionism too! :-)

In my case, I wanted to keep a journal of Carter's growing up. I was doing a lousy job documenting things, and thought that perhaps letting some online friends in on it might encourage me to do a better job. Alas, hasn't happened yet...

Well, it's also a convenient way to keep your friends updated on what's going on in your life : ) I've also made a lot of friends through LJ.

Given the events of the past few weeks, Tristyn, "made a few friends through LJ" may well be the Grand Understatement of 2004. :-)

I'm literally cracking up from that one!

I know it's a social thing...but starting out (as I am) it just feels a little self centered to sit down and just write stuff. I guess it's just a bit of insecurity on my end. Nothing too new!

:-)
