Ok, so got the new computer, which is really nice and oh so fast compared to what I was used to. Any of you have Windows HP Home Edition? I'm finding some things are missing that should really be here. For instance, one of my favorite features in Windows 98 and Me was the quick icon to switch to the desktop. I can't seem to find that here. Why would they get rid of such a handy lil feature? Or is it here somewhere and I just haven't found it yet?

Also, I thought I could use my old Office Professional disc but my sister in law (total techie) told me that I shouldn't put it on here so now I'm going to get stuck buying the software - just when I thought I was done spending money.

Ok, so any input here is greatly appreciated.

As far as I know the only problem with Office 97 under XP is that you need to do a "custom install" and make sure not to install the Web Page Authoring component. That, and a friend has reported having some problems with Outlook 97 e-mail under XP -- I would suggest an upgrade if you're using Outlook much.

Yep, I'm a bit of a techie. :) I actually work at Microsoft nowadays as a writer, though I'm not working on Office stuff.
