Where I've been

I haven't really posted anything of substance in a while. The puppy has taken up a lot of energy, but it's all good. Only her first night was spent listening to her cry in her crate. After that, she's really just so good. She is so much like Bama was as a puppy that it makes me happy and sad at the same time. She also looks exactly like her, only with the black patches. I'll have to dig up some pics and scan them in.
Then of course, because it's me, Ella got sick. Saturday night she woke up late with a fever. On Sunday, it went up to 104. She was lethargic, and she's *never* been lethargic. I worried. Then she had diarrhea for four days. She would drink, but not eat, and she was nursing like a newborn. My left boob still hurts. She was clingy and miserable. Fun.
Thank goodness she's back to her normal miserable self today. She's been systematically wrecking the house, making up for days of some semblance of order.
I have spent many hours this week in our basement. I decided that I needed to clear out a lot of garbage in there in order to make my work space more desirable. I got rid of half a dozen garbage bags full of old toys and fabric and things I'll never use. I threw away most of our VCR tapes. I'm going to get rid of all the DVD cases too, once I get a sleeve thing big enough to hold all of them. The cleaning out is very therapeutic. My only problem when I get like this is that once I finish culling one floor of the house, the rest of the family has destroyed another floor. So now the basement is almost neat, and the main floor is going to start accumulating days of crap before I'm done. And it's the weekend, which means Robert will be adding to the crap, which is substantial (Freudian slip anyone?)
So that's it...I've got a ton of puppy pictures to post and some of the kids too. Later.
