lalicopaToday was babysitter day. I was planning on going food shopping at Fairway and then doing some other stuff around town. Part of that was doing a bit of charity work, but I can do that on Monday or even over the weekend.
I called my friend Lori to see if she wanted to come and if not, if she wanted anything from Fairway and to find out about a product she told me about that she gets there. She said she would have loved to come, but that she was going to a craft show in Westchester instead. Then she invited me to go with her.
I struggled, like an idiot, about going. Then my mom said, "Don't do Mrs. G*** things today, do things for yourself." She was so right.
So I took Lily with me to Lori's house since her daughter Eden is in Lily's class. I put them on the bus together. Then we drove up to the show. It was *awesome*. It's a juried show, so there's no crap. There's stuff that's not my taste, but nothing there where you'd say it wasn't art. I love talking to artists. I love looking at stuff and seeing all these ideas.
We walked past this great clothing booth. I grew up going to craft shows and I've never purchased any clothing from them. Lori had bought something from them before so we stopped to look. The stuff was just beautiful. I tried on a skirt and a pair of pants, then I settled on this fucking awesome dress. I was able to justify the expense because we have a wedding next month and I have nothing to wear. I tried it on and it is just the most gorgeous, flattering, eye catching thing. I have to take a picture of it. It's so stunning.
I also got some kettle corn (which we polished off on the drive home), some herb mixes, some biscotti, adorable angel wings and a magic wand from a fairy booth that would make Katie's girls go INSANE. I think that's it. I have to post a picture of this dress because it's just so incredible. I haven't felt so good about a purchase in a long time.
What a nice day! And we had grown up talk all the way there and all the way home!
