I guess I'm growing as a person

We had two aquatic frogs, gifted to us by the ladies who clean our house. We've had them for a long time, way longer than I had expected.

This morning, Verde (the smaller one) was dead. Sapo is still huge and swimming around.

Here's where I'm growing...I can't stomach seeing anything dead. I couldn't even flush a dead goldfish down the toilet until a few years ago. When our hamster died pre-Laszlo, I had to close the cabinet his cage was housed in until Robert got home to take care of it.

But today! I stuck my hand in and inside-out sandwich bag and grabbed that dead froggie, flipped it back outside-in (like I do when I pick up dog poop) and zipped it up and put it in the garbage. I told Laszlo it died and he said, "That's ok, we can get another one." Um, no. I asked if he wanted to see it, he said no.

So Verde's out in the trash.

I was going to let the frogs out a dozen times to the duck pond around the corner, but there are turtles in there and I knew they'd be eaten within hours.

I hope Sapo isn't too lonely.
