Poor Lily!

Well, we finally found a food that Lily doesn't like...jalapeno peppers! We went out for Mexican tonight, and I asked them specifically to leave the jalapenos off my dish. Lily finished her share of the quesadilla she and Laszlo were sharing and she took her fork and started digging around my plate. She liked the beans, no surprise there. Then all of a sudden she let out a shriek and was licking the table to try and wipe off her tongue. I found the small cube of pepper right in front of her and then found a few more on my plate. I was pissed, especially since I asked for my meal without peppers. The restaurant staff felt so bad, they brought me out a glass of milk for her while I was outside trying to calm her down. Her misery only lasted for about 3 minutes, thank goodness. She went right back to stuffing her chubby little face once we sat back down. That's my girl.

Ouch, poor Lily! Sasha had her first jalepeno the exact same way. She was only about 8 months old at the time, I think. I saw the red rising on her face just like in the cartoons. She loves Mexican food now, even fairly spicy salsa on her chips. Maybe Lily will be a pepperbelly when it's not such a surprise.
