Laszlo figured out how to copy and paste and find and replace values in Excel. Yeah, all 6 year olds play in spreadsheet programs, but whatever...

So last night he was explaining to Robert what he did because he was excited.

"Daddy, here's what you do. You write the numbers in the cells, then you highlight them. Then you click on the *highlation* and then right click and hit 'copy'" - and at that point we stopped listening because he invented the word "highlation" to designate the highlighted area on the sheet. He thought nothing of it. Like, yeah, something's highlighted, so therefore it's a highlation.

He so blows my mind.

Also the other day we were out of Scotch tape. I told him we had to buy some. So within 2 minutes, my cell phone text alert went off. I went to check it and it's a message from his email address that says, "for all your tape needs, go to http://www.tapesolutions.com," or something to that effect.

I was out with Robert and my mom was watching the kids. I got a text that said, "I am haveng fun with your muthr."

hi this is so random but i have a question for you? i know you live in merrick. did you have you babies at nassau university medical? did you have a midwife? i had willa at north shore but next pregnancy i am hoping to have a natural birth and i believe nassau has a really nice birthing center. i am also looking into midwives. wondering if you had a midwife or a ob? i really don't know much about nassau..maybe you can help?

Hi! I had all three of my kids at LIJ. I used an OB/GYN all three times too. I don't know much about Nassau other than that there was once an episode of A Baby Story filmed there and they had a water birth. :-) That hospital used to have a horrible reputation, but it's been getting better and better every year.

The only midwife I know of locally is a woman in Baldwin. She is the only local midwife who does home births. A few of my friends have used her and loved her. I'm not sure how far she travels or if she's affiliated with any hospitals. I can get her name for you if you're interested.

thanks i would love the name of the midwife! did you have epidurals with your kids? my friend merideth said it's a county hospital so all kinds of walks of life go there..im like "um okay." she is from merrick orig. she said it's next to a jail so the inmates go there...so i'm leaning on going back to north shore. maybe i'll just hire a midwife that can deliver there and find a doula.

Yep, I had epidurals with all three. I knew I'd have one the first time and tried both other times to not, but it's just not in me. And I have a very high tolerance for pain normally. It's just not something I was able to do. I have the utmost respect for women who can give birth without epidurals, but for me, it's the way to go. And there was no ill effect on any of my kids or on me, other than some lingering pain in the injection site for a day or so after the birth.
